Divorce Mediation &
Family Law Services
Attorney Mediator Mark Portman offers divorce mediation services that can help you successfully complete a divorce or legal separation settlement on the key issues of property division, support and custodial arrangements if there are children.
Divorce mediation with an experienced family law attorney mediator helps both parties communicate and negotiate constructively to establish fair terms of settlement. Divorce mediation does not require that couples be on good terms or close to settlement (although that can help). The only requirement to begin divorce mediation is that both parties are willing to work with a mediator with the goal of reaching a mutually acceptable agreement.
Attorney Mediator Mark Portman has practiced family law since 1977 and has had extensive mediator training. He has helped hundreds of couples reach divorce settlements. Divorce mediation services are offered by 3-way telephone conferencing. Mediator consultations are available at no charge by telephone or email to answer questions about divorce mediation .

My Services are dedicated to helping couples complete their divorce in a fair and constructive manner and avoiding the stress, the time and the money that is spent on court-litigated divorces. Mediation does not mean you are compromising your interests or your rights. You can have a lawyer help you at any point in the process or review any decisions (always recommended) before signing the settlement. The difference is that you can use a lawyer when you need to, as an advisor; while you gather and exchange information and discuss all the issues with the assistance of a mediator experienced in family law. You decide how quickly the process moves forward. You budget your time and your expense to fit your needs and circumstances rather than being faced with costly court proceedings and attorneys fees. When a settlement is reached all the paperwork is prepared and submitted for court approval through the mail.
